9:00am [9:30am] Watercolor Class (Painting with Water)
Description:
Dates: Saturdays, October 6, 13, 20, 27 and November 3 and 10 Students will learn watercolor technique with artist Kristine Plum on Saturdays October 6, 13, 20, 27 and November 3 and 10, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until noon at Gallery 200, 200 Main Street, West Chicago. The painting class will focus on the basic composition, value and color blending required for making a balanced and interesting landscape or floral. The cost is $72 paid in advance for all six sessions, or $14 for one individual class and is open to students age 18 and over. Credit toward prepaid missed classes will be given during the next spring session . [11:30am] West Chicago Park District’s Halloween Parade
Description:
Families will have a spooktacular time celebrating the Halloween holiday on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. during the Park District’s annual Halloween Parade. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. in the parking lot behind the West Chicago Public Library. This free annual holiday event is fun for all ages and offers a costume judging contest and parade. Costumes are judged and prizes are awarded on creativity, originality, and overall impression From the spooky to the scary to fun cartoon characters, Chelsea McKone, recreation coordinator for the Park District said, “every year we have a great mix of costumes and this year I am looking forward to seeing what everyone has come up with.” The costume judging begins at noon with the parade beginning at 12:30 p.m. After the parade kids are invited to masquerade as their favorite ghosts, goblins, witches and warlocks during West Chicago’s annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat from 1-3 p.m. Downtown businesses, designated by a pumpkin in their window, host the free event for families in the community. Description:
Children are invited to masquerade as their favorite ghosts, goblins, witches and warlocks during West Chicago’s annual Downtown Trick or Treat on Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Downtown businesses, designated by a pumpkin in their window, host the free “spooktacular” event for community families.
