West Chicago Park District’s Halloween Parade

Description: Families will have a spooktacular time celebrating the Halloween holiday on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. during the Park District’s annual Halloween Parade. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. in the parking lot behind the West Chicago Public Library.

This free annual holiday event is fun for all ages and offers a costume

judging contest and parade. Costumes are judged and prizes are awarded on creativity, originality, and overall impression

From the spooky to the scary to fun cartoon characters, Chelsea McKone, recreation coordinator for the Park District said, “every year we have a great mix of costumes and this year I am looking forward to seeing what everyone has come up with.”

The costume judging begins at noon with the parade beginning at 12:30 p.m.

After the parade kids are invited to masquerade as their favorite ghosts, goblins, witches and warlocks during West Chicago’s annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat from 1-3 p.m. Downtown businesses, designated by a pumpkin in their window, host the free event for families in the community.
